About me

Basically, it all started in my childhood:
I would see and watch my mother doing 'something artistic' - either making pottery, making and stringing beads and necklaces, or sewing a leather bag or belt, either filing a ring or some other piece of silver jewellery… ..
I always wanted to 'make something' too.
I have always liked the bucolic idea of painting in the midst of nature, at an easel, with a beret, with the palette in my left hand… beautiful landscapes, birds singing…
Believing that everything can be learned, I was very happy when, in 2006, I discovered 'Center Stage' which also organised painting classes. Here I got (re)accustomed with the basic techniques. Unfortunately, they closed in 2007.
In 2009 a friend introduced me to the Basil Art Gallery and, as they say, the rest is history…
I 'named' the personal exhibition organised by The Basil Gallery in 2013 "..... twas my fancy" , and it is what I would 'name' this portfolio too .... that is, works of art that I wanted to see on my walls, works by well-known artists, and ideas/techniques that I explored and furthered 'in my own style'.
Thanks and acknowledgments to Luminița and Bogdan Vasile - the founders of Basil Art Gallery, and to the teachers there: Fabiana Dima first and foremost, Ana, Lucia, Marian .... and also to my 'easel colleagues' who , over the years, have enriched my 'artistic experience' and have become family.
